New Year, New Music..Ok so a good friend of mine, Dj/producer PG aka Pasta Groove/Ill Primitivo dropped by here at the studio some few weeks back to pick up some records, and he gave me a copy of his 2nd album, ILL Primitivo released under Terno Records. I've personally witnessed his evolution from a young rapper/MC with his 1st group, Grounded (circa late 90's) with his double time raps, to a supernatural Freestyler (United Freestyles Vol.1) who can spit bars til' the beat stops. And now one of the most prolific beatmakers to ever touch the MPC..I finally got to listen to the album during the holidays and here's some samples..Definitely one of the most slept on albums last year. Here is hte 2nd coming of Manila sound
Here's the 1st single, "Ang Mundo" feat. Armi Millare of Up Dharma Down..
and here's a song with AMPON's Labjaxx and Anygma of Fliptop
and here's some trivia..his dad, Dennis Garcia of the band Hotdog is a friend of my dad during the 1970's...As the story goes, my dad is the one who recorded their breaktrough hit "Ikaw ang miss universe" during the early 70's...
You can buy a copy of ILL Primitivo the album at Fully Booked Bookstores.
